I thought this was interesting. On FourZeroTwo's blog he has a section to list his Games.

He has a HUGE collection of Games, He is obviously a Xbox 360 fanboi. he does however have tons of games on other consoles.

The one area his collection is lacking is the PC game section. Now I understand where he is coming from. He IS a CONSOLE Gamer!!! He doesn't give a hoot about PC Gamers!

Look at his extensive list of games and look how bleak his PC Games section is, oh yeah, The PC Section is at the bottom of the list.....

my, how the pendulum does swing.  just give it time and you will see console pirates being targetted.

years from now its possible you may read someone post in a forum:

"Stupid consolers, you've pirated the console to its death, hope you are happy!"

  • | Post Points: 23

I truly believe that the piracy had nothing to do with IW/Activisions choice to Nerf the PC version of MW2, I believe they simply don't want to support PC games anymore, so they tried to shove a Console - > PC port down our throats.

Funny thing is, If they hadn't leaked any details about it, they would have succeded. I would have bought it if I didn't know about the issues it has.

I am glad they came clean and informed us of the limitations before it went public. I'm sure they didn't expect the uproar they created. They are console gamers so they expected us PC gamers to just say," OK No dedicated servers, I'll buy it anyway!" (read with the voice of Goofy...)

"Vince-IW: We would like you to play the game the way we designed and balanced it."

Holy crap, that sounds familiar! Didn't Valve say the same thing for TF2 when they limited server player capacity? That went really well for them. *laughs*

"Consumers with modded 360s illegally downloaded game ten days before release, claim sites; Microsoft 'aware of reports'"

Holy crap, that sounds familiar! Isn't that what happened to Sony when they went hardcore on Spores DRM?

Why, yes, yes it was. In fact, shortly after its release... "Spore was without doubt the most anticipated game of the year. The game itself has blown away the people who have played it, but the DRM encouraged thousands to get their copy illegally. Already Spore has been downloaded more than 500,000 times on BitTorrent, and this number is increasing rapidly."

Maybe pissing off hardcore gamers is a bad idea after all? Maybe correlation does not imply causation...

Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version?

Mackey-IW: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

*laughs* *checks to make sure this isn't some sort of joke/parody site* *laughs harder*

It is laughable and yet sad at the same time...

I've seen In game PC video, it looks like a blast, but they have gimped it so much I don't kow if I could really enjoy it.

That and I refuse to support their cause of turning PC games into Console games so they can make more money.

Yeah, it does look like a blast. Yes, I could definitely enjoy it. For about sixteen hours, until I realize I've already experienced all there is in the game. I heard the setup they use forces the hosting on a random player and when they leave it has to re-sync to a new player. I'm not incredibly sure about if that's true or how exactly that works but it's laughable if it is true. I wouldn't buy the game if I was paid to. I would never support anything that tries to ruin dedicated servers. I mean, dedicated servers are the reason I ended up here in the first place, aren't they? Why would I support something that would kill that whole system? The most annoying thing of all is that the game is going to be a huge success regardless of what we do to stop it. I have to admit though, http://badcompany2.ea.com/ looks like a lot of fun! I wonder if my computer could handle it...

I'm going to keep an eye on Metacritic as well. The user score is terribly funny.

All of the reviews are written for the console versions of the game and of course the console fanbois love the game so it gets high ratings.

The User ratings and comments are much more accurate!

MW2 already available for pirates, PLUS multiplayer cracked HAHAHAHA phail system already if hackers were able to do that so quickly

Unlike in sports, the game of war has no set time limit and no points are awarded, so how do you determine the winners and the losers? When all your enemies are destroyed? 多分そして。

LOL

I knew this would happen of course. I wonder if they just made it a MOD for MW, since they are both based off the same engine.

They were fools to think otherwise. By pissing off the PC community they made themselves the biggest target on the planet! I'm surprised they haven't DDOS'd the IWNet sites.  I'm not condoning that mind you, just surprised it hasn't happened. or rather that we haven't heard about it.

I'm not going to support a cracked version either. When the price comes down below $30 I'll consider it for the single player.

was talking to my brother in law yesterday who got it for ps3. he said that IWnet was taken down this week due to stability issues and won't be running till at least this weekend. so mp isn't even working for the ps3 atm (not sure about pc or the linu-xbox)

wouldn't be surprised if iwnet hasn't already come under dos attacks and they're scrambling right now to implement some sort of firewall to prevent the attacks again. of course this is pure speculation but its more than likely they have or will be facing problems of this nature.

All they needed to do was give the PC Gamers Mulitplayer and none of this would have happened!

This just in: MW2 get a 5 out of 10.

http://www.gamearena.com.au/pc/games/title/modern-warfare-2/reviews.php?id=5033868

A review from Gamearena that acturally makes sense! They actually rated the PC and console versions of the game separately.

Here's another where it got a 7/10 from Gameplanet

this review seems to be a common opinion i've seen lately of mw2. btw, this is a review by a console gamer.

Elwenil gave it a 7:

Overall this game feels more like it should have been a $39 expansion to CoD4 rather than a full $60 game. It is certainly not up to the standard of the current generation of AA titles, in my opinion. The singleplayer is very short and the plot is more than a little ridiculous and completely illogical. The story is wandering and feels incomplete with very little to "fill it out". The multiplayer is as expected by anyone who played CoD4. Not much has changed overall in this game from the earlier title and I really feel that Infinity Ward could have done better. I don't feel disappointed that I bought the game, but I do feel disappointed that I paid $60 for what is basically an expansion.

You will not see my name up there, until they put in dedicated servers....

I'm not holding my breath however. I have given up on this game completely.
