Use the sites Friends Feature!

One of the new features of this sites is Friends. Like Facebook or other social networking sites it allows you to add other users to your friends list, but they have to accept the friend request in order for it to be completed.

Once you have friends you can see their activity on the site very easily from the home page. I use this to keep track of posts, file uploads and comments that I might otherwise overlook. You can specify which items will show up on your page under Activity Message configuration in the Site Options page of your profile.

I recommend using this feature amongst yourselves.

Check your profile page to see Pending Friend Requests. I think there is a number next to Friends in the Header where it shows your logged in.

So all of you who still have pending friend request, Accept or decline already! This means you Dark, Rush, Amon and quite a few others!

Recent Additions Photos

Somebody needs to fix the Recent Additions from our photo gallery on the home page. For some reason, they don't change. Maybe it will be fixed during a site update, or maybe somebody has to do something about it. I'm not sure, but it should get fixed.

New ISP for the site!

We have moved from our old but beloved Speakeasy connection to a new much faster Optonline Business connection.

This should facilitate faster uploads and downloads from various servers including this websites servers.

Here is what it looks like most of the time...

Not too bad... Especially compared to the old isp....

Download Speed: 29011 kbps (3626.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1385 kbps (173.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

The problem with Cable systems and the reason I avoided it for so long is the bandwidth isn't consistant especially in a big city like NY. I would have much preferred to have Verizon Fios but it was unavailable in my area with no timeframe of when it would be available.. Fios bandwidth is steady as a rock!

Performance issues

I am aware and annoyed by the performance issues even more than you guys!

I changed a few things related to the Application pool settings.

Recycling (restart) web application at 2:40 Am and 11:51 Am
Recycling after consuming a certain amount of memory
Limited the Application pool to one thread instead of 2

Time will tell whether or not these changed have any effect. Keep your fingers crossed.

Server list links not working

I am aware of this issue and plan to have this fixed ASAP. The problem is the site is rewriting the links. I have to try a few other methods.

i guess when you get multiple comments on a blog (such as this one above), the second comment gets a white background with a grey/off-white text.

when you have a post that has been rejected from the site, you get the following message

Your message is unrelated to the topic of the {MC} Paradise's Garage Forums. As a consequence, your message has not been approved. Perhaps you can use Google or MSN Search to find a more relevant community service for your message.

Do we really want them to leave that bad?

Blue on black?

Is it just me or is the blue on black text a little hard on the eyes? When you get to the small font it's almost impossible to read. Is it a major hassle to experiment with some other colors? The black is cool but another color text might look better.
