• Re: Left 4 Dead 2 Announced!

The reception to this announcement has been "Haha, good one Valve. Wait, what do you mean you're serious?! *outrage*" and I can't help but agree. If anything, it's an expansion pack. It comes out within the same week as Modern Warfare 2, and it will be decimated in sales. People feel ripped off. They feel like L4D wasn't worth

I never get popups either, unless I allow them, and I agree that I don't mind normal ads...but that's a bit off topic.
Michael Lynton, the chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment, recently said he "doesn't see anything good having come from the Internet, period."
Did you mean Performance?
Yes. I don't think GTA has a lot of gore compared to other games, but I'm pretty sure you can hack off a guys arm with a chain saw, and that seems a lot worse than killing some monster with a chain saw because of the atmosphere of the game. You're doing bad things just to

For me especially, I have a history of disliking games for their overdone violence. It doesn't so much bother me anymore, but seeing my enemies arm fly off doesn't really excite me either. The look of a game can mean a lot, but it's not the entire game. Look at Crysis. It looks AMAZING! But the gameplay, from what I've heard and experienced

    You're probably right.
What are they going to tax next? Air?
At this rate, yes.

Looking from the other point of view, the logic is sound. Use a slight tax increase on things that help sustain obesity and use that revenue to fund anti-obesity programs. As obesity drops (as would be expected), less funding for these programs will be required (this means that fewer people will be purchasing sweets due to the programs, not that the

It's a little ridiculous, but it seems to be something people aren't used to dealing with yet. The virtual world is still very new, and we're not sure where to draw the line.
