I feel it is my duty to push a Dystopia plug, since I do require new competition...or easy targets.
Dystopia is a total conversion cyberpunk-themed mod for the Half Life 2 Orange Box engine and is currently in version 1.3. It is completely free on steam and as far as I know, does not require any Half Life 2 Source or Orange Box game to play. It is a dual layered FPS-Strategy game. It combines your typical first person shooter physical aspect that you will find in any FPS game (we like to call it meatspace) and a new aspect in which a user can deck in to terminals and control the map in a multitude of ways called cyberspace. Cyberspace has its own entirely different aspect of a shooter. For most maps, to successfully win, it will take cooperation between meatspace and cyberspace to continue on in the map. The community only has about 4000 active players, which can be seen as a good thing or a bad thing. I tend to find it to be a good thing because your more then likely going to run into an intelligent team that knows what to do without the high-pitched 8 year olds screaming profanities like butt-head (if only their parents could hear them now). For more information on this game you can check out the steam store page or go to www.dystopia-game.com to check it out.
And if you do become interested in trying this out, just get ahold of me and I'll run you through the game and teach you the dynamics of the game before facing the big dogs (they bark and bite). To get ahold of me, either ask para or any MC member in the vent teamspeak if I am not there or go to Troops house.
